Sunshine in...March?

What happens when two college girls are far from home and a tempting trip to sunny Arizona rises before them in the middle of a cold and snowy March? Goodbye school...that's what! Yep, Jenni and Julie got to go with the Allens, Phelps, and Beckett's to Sedona, Arizona last month.

Part One -The Drive:"Oh what fun it was to drive in a cousin-laden car"

15 hour drive?!? I think I'll catch up on my beauty sleep.

Oh yes...bring on the gas station goodies!

Are we there yet?!?!

What to do when your SNOWED IN!

There's nothing like being snowed in for a couple of days. Over the 30th we had some snow, and I mean actual snow. Because we live in Tennessee things kind of shut down because of 2 to 3 inches of snow. Kind of crazy, but here are some pictures of Chris and dad sledding down our street. it was iced over. I think dad had fun, once the bruses wore off from the fall:) It's amazing what fun you can have with some ice, a slope, a small piece of plastic, and daring minds!!

Our Fun but Crazy January

January is our month for birthdays. We had a total of 5 birthdays to celebrate.

First we celebrted Taryn's on the 8th. The girls made a rainbow chip cake with icecream in the middle. they are so creative. We really enjoyed celebrating Taryn's birthday with her.

The next day was kallies Birthday. She is now 15 years old. For the new year a lot of the family went off sugar, including Kallie, so we had homemade bread with fresh smoothies instead of a cake. It was really fun and good. We love that Kallie girl.

the 16th was Dad's birthday. For his birthday he and mom went to the Smoky Mountains for a weekend getaway. Lucky ducks.

The 25th was Mark'd birthday. It was his golden birthday, he turned 25 on the 25th. It has been so fun to have mark at home with the family. We sure do love him.

Last but not least was Julie's Birthday. She is now 19 years old. This was her first birthday away from home. It was a "Super Hero" party. I don't know about you but they sure do look like super heros to me. What a fun birthday. I think Julie enjoyed it.
What a month!

Dad's Cool Trick

Here's Dad doing his cool tricks for Family Home Evening. What a Dad!

Julie's Magic Trick

We had a part night for Family Home Evening and Julie decided to do a magic tirck for her part. At least she tried, got to give her credit for that:)

Phelps's Visit

Happy New Year Everyone! We spent the end of 2009 enjoying the company of Uncle Rick, Aunt Janelle, and their kids. Thanks for coming guys; we had a blast! Some of the fun things we got to do include seeing The Princess and the Frog, eating at the southernly hospitable Uncle Buds (where some of us bold ones sampled frog legs and alligator), driving the beautiful Nachetz Trace, playing games, watching fun movies, eating good food, shopping, etc...Fun Times

Here is Alyssia eating a frog leg!!

Here is Kendra and Julie at Jackson's Falls on the Trace

Julie and Jenni made a beautifully Delicious cheesecake for New Years Eve. It was GOOD!!!

Needless to say we all had a BLAST!
